Kentucky police officers hilariously mourn loss of donuts after Krispy Kreme truck catches fire 

Police in Kentucky found a humorous way to pay their respects to a fallen comrade: an empty Krispy Kreme truck that had caught fire.

No one was injured when the Krispy Kreme driver stopped Monday after noticing smoke in the cab of his truck following a delivery in Morehead.  

‘No words,’ Lexington police said in their tweet that has been liked more than 92,000 times. Their post included photos of the blackened side of the truck and officers jokingly mourning the truck’s loss.

The truck’s fire was extinguished quickly and the cause remains undetermined but officers are investigating.

Police departments from across the country chimed in to offer their condolences.

‘Hang tight, we are sending backup forthwith, and these guys came prepared,’ said NYPD News in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of a police helicopter. ‘We hope you like sprinkles.’

The sentiment was shared by the Toledo Police Department, who added: ‘Hang in there, 2019 will get better.’

‘We feel your loss. We donut know what else to say,’ said the UK police. 

The Lake Dallas police shared a fun gif of a dog wiping its tears that said ‘that’s so sad.’ 

Mississippi’s Oxford Police Department also posted their own gif, along with the Southport officers.

‘Well played Lexington. Well played, indeed,’ asserted the La Verne Police Department.
