Advent calendars are traditionally filled with chocolate, but it seems this year’s must-have version is filled with a rather less sweet treat; slime.
The £7 Goozooka calendar – which went on sale at Home Bargains and through Amazon – tipped into the craze for slime that’s been gripping children up and down the UK, so much so that it’s already sold out.
But savvy shoppers who were quick enough to snap one up are flogging them on eBay for as much as five times the original retail price.
The sold out calendar contains 18 pots slime, two pots of sand and four of glitter behind its doors – and parents desperate to get their hands on one are paying between £20 and £40 for festive countdowns.

According to the Sun Home Bargains ‘won’t be getting any more stock of the calendar this year’ and currently on Amazon it is sold out.
For slime fans unable to get their hands on Goozooka’s advent, eBay are offering a ‘make your own’ version for £17.95.
It includes 24 flat pack mini boxes, number stickers, and pots of slime as well as four reels of ribbon so you can hang them from your Christmas tree.
Like modern-day Play-Doh, slime is easy to make at home – common ingredients mixed together for the toy goo include PVA glue, shaving foam and contact lens solution, which contains the powerful chemical borax.
