Strictly Come Dancing: Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton send viewers wild with faux kiss

She made a defiant return to the dancefloor after admitting she wanted to cry for four days straight following a rib injury.

And Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton sent viewers wild as they faked a kiss behind a hat during their Ginger Rogers street dance on Saturday’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

While putting on a loved-up display for the dance, fans warned the television presenter, 31, and the professional dancer, 36, not to follow in the footsteps of former contestant Seann Walsh and Katya Jones, who shared a drunken kiss last month.

Viewers took to Twitter in their droves as according to The Sun, one poked fun at the tender moment: ‘That hat was remarkably still then. I’m sensing someone shared a smooch #Strictly’

Another penned: ‘Imagine tomorrow’s papers with what happens behind the hat #Strictly.’

A third made a reference to comedian Seann’s steamy smooch with his dance partner Katya: ‘Don’t kiss her behind the hat, Kevin; you know what happened to Seann. #Strictly.’

Seann, 32, hit headlines with the Russian pro, 29, following their kiss on a drunken night out last month. Seann was in a relationship with Rebecca Humphries at the time, while Katya is currently married to fellow dancer Neil Jones.

Meanwhile, Stacey defied fears her rib injury would impact her performance as she took to the dance floor on the BBC show, receiving a staggering 36 points with their commercial Couple’s Choice dance to Alicia Keys’ Empire State Of Mind – despite missing two days of training.

Bruno Tonioli told Stacey she ‘danced like a pro’, and her storytelling was ‘flawless’, while Craig Revel Horwood commented: ‘It had absolutely everything I love.’

Kevin went on to gush how proud he was of Stacey’s efforts as he told Claudia Winkleman: ‘We missed two days and she said to me “I’m not happy” so we trained  to 10 pm for two days to make the hours up. I’m so proud of her.’

While Stacey joked: ‘I’ve got new ribs now.’

Ahead of the live shows, the television presenter confessed she wanted to cry for four days in a row in a candid Instagram post.

Stacey also appeared to admit she had ‘no time’ for tears, alluding to being frustrated about having to cram in her dance training for this week.

The picture she shared had the quote ‘Adulthood is wanting to cry for 4 days straight but not having the time’ scrawled across a mustard yellow background in white type face typography.

Strictly Come Dancing The Results airs on BBC One on Sunday at 7.50pm.
