Streisand then pulled up in an SUV and picked up a relieved Corden, who called her ‘a lifesaver’ and asked her to turn on the radio.

Streisand said, ‘I don’t usually put the radio on to hear music – so do you really have to hear music?’

In the clip, Babs and the English funnyman sang her classic from the 1968 film Funny Girl, Don’t Rain on My Parade.

Streisand, who celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with husband James Brolin this past summer, made headlines for her remarks in a New York Times article on Tuesday, saying she’d consider moving to Canada if Republicans retain the House of Representatives in next week’s Midterm elections.

‘I’ve been thinking about, do I want to move to Canada? I don’t know,’ Streisand told the paper, making clear she’s deeply upset by President Donald Trump’s leadership after nearly two years in office.

‘I’m just so saddened by this thing happening to our country,’ said The Prince of Tides star, who channeled her anger toward the Celebrity Apprentice host in Don’t Lie to Me, a song from her forthcoming record, Walls, which is slated for release Friday.

She explained: ‘I would lie awake at night with Trump’s outrages running through my head, and I had to do another album for Columbia Records, so I thought, why not make an album about what’s on my mind? And that became the title of the first song.’

Streisand said she wrote the song over Trump and his relationship with the truth, as the Washington Post had estimated in August that the president had made 4,229 false or misleading statements since taking office.

She said: ‘Truth has always worked for me, so to see the truth defiled every day is very, very painful for me. I only can do what I can do. I probably will turn a lot of people off.’

Past stars to appear in the popular musically-driven bit include Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs Monday thru Friday on CBS at 12:37/11:37c.
