People are always looking for insider tips and tricks for how to slim down the body in an easy and affordable way.
And now experts have detailed a series of non-invasive treatments that people can implement at an office or at home to get rid of cellulite and firm-up specific areas of the body, making you look trimmer and more toned.
From cupping – a technique known by many as a form of massage or sports therapy – to DIY skin wraps, the at-home slimming options are endless, as beauty guru Huda Kattan highlighted in a post on her

‘It works on the principle of breaking up stagnation [inflammation] and moving massive blood flow and thus fresh oxygenation to the tissues so they can function better,’ Janna explained.

Cupping was brought into the limelight during the Olympic Games when swimmer Michael Phelps, as well as other athletes, were seen with suctioned marks scattered across their bodies.
‘Michael Phelps really brought so much positive attention to this 2,000-year-old art,’ Janna said.
But while he used the technique to decompress his muscle fibers, other people can implement it to target places that need toning or have cellulite.
On the legs, Janna said clients will experience a ‘tightening, firming, and smoothing out [of] cellulite.’
She continued: ‘While there is no magic bullet, we have a few tricks up our sleeve where we combine modern dermatology with ancient wisdom — including custom topical liniments and vitality herbs that synergistically improve the efficacy of the cups.
‘We actually have cupping workshops, (more like cupping parties) where we teach clients how to do this at home.’
These workshops include lotions or oils, cups and instructions for people can take home so they can re-create the treatments.
Interesting: Another technique people can implement at home is called dry brushing. It involves using a brush to increase circulation along the body through circular motions (stock)

If someone wants to target their face with cupping, smaller cups are used to prevent any trauma that might occur to the skin.
‘The aim is more for gently smoothing fine lines, tightening skin and bringing circulation,’ Janna said.
Another technique used by Janna’s practice after cupping is a tool called a gua sha, an ancient Chinese healing technique that looks like a ‘Chinese soup spoon’, Janna explained.
‘The analogy is that the cupping breaks up the concrete and the gua sha tool is like an iron that repaves the broken-up road,’ Janna said. ‘This is used to brighten the skin, reduce fine lines, and help increase circulation.’
Other techniques experts recommend for targeting cellulite and slimming the body include using a
‘If you want to try something at home, the Fascia Blaster breaks up the fascia in your tissue, which can help release toxins, reduce swelling, improve lymphatic drainage, and minimize the appearance of cellulite,’ celebrity aesthetician Joshua Ross, who works for SkinLab in West Hollywood, California, told
Dry brushing, a technique involving taking a body brush and moving it in circular motions along the skin, is recommended by experts for an at-home treatment.
‘Body brushing the stomach not only helps with digestion, but it gives you a more slimming result,’ celebrity facialist Ildi Pekar told Huda Beauty.
This technique should be used prior to showering because it essentially will work as an exfoliator to remove dead skin cells as well as increasing circulation.
