A young boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a falling tree during a massive storm.
The primary school-aged child was at a property near Coolabuinia in southeast Queensland when a tree fell on top of him on Friday morning.
The boy has been flown to hospital by a rescue helicopter and is suffering from ‘head to toe’ injuries, the Courier-Mail reported.
Southeast Queensand has been ravaged by storms and a supercell tornado which has pelted the region with tennis-ball sized hail.
Family members were distraught as the boy received emergency treatment from paramedics at the scene.
Bystanders were forced to use four-wheel drives in a desperate attempt to remove the tree.
