Aimed at youngsters aged between 18 months and five years, the list marks a major shift from gadgets to retro wooden toys.
The British retail giant predicts a kitchen play set will be at the top of kids’ wish lists this year, with a plush dolls’ house and a high-tech scooter following closely behind.

ELC’s Retro Diner Kitchen has topped the list of Mothercare’s must-have toys for Christmas 2018, with the retail giant noting a shift from high-tech gadgets to retro wooden toys
‘There has most certainly been a switch in consumer demand away from just technology based toys,’ they said.
‘[It’s] back to incorporating more traditional play that really nurtures early child development, which sparks children’s imagination, cognition and early concentration skills,’ they said.
‘Our top toys for Christmas have been carefully selected to reflect consumer demand in our key toy categories.’
1. Retro Diner Kitchen – £160.00 – 3 years+
