She found fame as ‘the Geordie girl with a V.I.P. edge’ on
But now, seven years after the first series of the MTV show, Vicky Pattison is a Queen of The Jungle, an author, a presenter, a model, a body-confidence activist and an ambassador for skincare brand Iroha Nature.
The Newcastle-born beauty, 30, spoke exclusively to MailOnline about planning her wedding to John Noble and how her priority is to be ‘glowing,’ not ‘skinny’ on her wedding day.
Gorgeous: Vicky Pattison 30, spoke exclusively to MailOnline about her upcoming nuptials, and how her priority is to be ‘glowing,’ not ‘skinny’ on her wedding day
After pushing back their big day by a year, Vicky is now determined that she and John will tie the knot in 2019.
She said: ‘We’ve set in stone that we’re going to get married next year, because if we didn’t do that, it just wouldn’t happen.
‘We’re both so career focused and busy that we didn’t get around to making any decisions since we got engaged, and time was just passing us by.’
But Vicky has taken charge and made the decision to hire a wedding planner, to relieve some of the stress and to ensure that everything moves forward without a hitch.
‘John’s so career driven and lazy when comes to wedding planning, so we’ve found the wedding planner of our dreams. I’ve been speaking to her on the phone quite a lot, and we’re meeting her for the first time next week.
Entrepreneur: Vicky has teamed up with her favourite skincare brand Iroha Nature to ensure that she looks her best for her big day, with the help of a brand new collection of facemasks
Glowing: Vicky said: ‘Coming up to my wedding I don’t wanna be starving myself to get down to a size six and look super skinny and gaunt. I wanna have gorgeous glowing skin and a massive smile on my face
All-in-one: Vicky said: ‘I’m not very good at the whole cleanse, tone, moisturise routine thing, so I make up for it with face-masks’
‘I’ve been sending her pics of flowers I like at two in the morning and she gets straight back to me, even though she isn’t officially my wedding planner yet – so I know she’s the one for me.’
The reality star revealed that their wedding plans have changed drastically – far beyond just a simple date change – and admitted that she and John are being ‘divas’ about their big day.
‘Originally we wanted to get married up north. John’s so proud of where he’s from – as am I – But, he’s the reason we live in Newcastle.
‘We picked a few venues that we loved when we first got engaged, but since then so many people we know have gotten married at them, so we don’t want those venues anymore.
‘In all honesty, we’ve been divas about it. We want to wow people and for them to be seriously impressed.’
Smiling: Vicky said: ‘When John turns around on our wedding day, I him to see gorgeous glowing skin and a massive grin on my face, not an emaciated, stressed-out size six bod’
And, after John sadly lost both his Newcastle-based grandparents, an oversees wedding is now firmly on the cards for the pair, who first dated before Vicky’s time on Geordie Shore.
The brunette beauty revealed: ‘The wedding planner we’ve got has organised weddings in Tuscany Lake Garda, and all over the world.
‘I really want to get married somewhere that knocks people socks off. We’ll have viewings online of potential venues all around the world, and narrow down to a top three.
‘John’s coming round to it lots more. He lost both grandparents last year, and they were a big part of the reason he wanted us to get married in Newcastle.
It’s on: After pushing back their big day by a year, Vicky is now determined that she and John will tie the knot in 2019
‘But now that the situation has sadly changed, he’s more open to looking at having the wedding elsewhere.
‘I’d be happy taking 50 of our closest family and friends to Tuscany, so we’re conflicted and torn at the moment. There were so many people at our engagement party, and it was too much in my opinion.’
Although fitness-fanatic Vicky is keen to keep numbers to a minimum for their big day, she certainly doesn’t want to hold back when it comes to her hen party, after John vetoed the idea of a sten do (a joint stag and hen party).
She admitted: ‘I’ve thought about the hen party more at the wedding to be honest. Is that bad?
‘After seeing Olivia Buckland’s and Billie Faiers’ hen weekends I need to step my game up. They have set the bar so high, I’m definitely feeling the pressure.’
‘I did actually have Ibiza or Mykonos in mind for my hen party, but they’ve done them now, so I might need to think of somewhere else.’
Diva: The reality star revealed that their wedding plans have changed drastically – far beyond just a simple date change – and admitted that she and John are being ‘divas’ about their big day
In June, Love Island star Olivia Buckland, 24, partied away in Mykonos, Greece, with a host of fellow reality stars including Cara De La Hoyde, 28, and Gabby Allen, 26, ahead of her wedding to Alex Bowen, 26.
And, former TOWIE star Billie Faiers, 28, chose to spend August Bank Holiday weekend in Ibiza for her hen weekend, ahead of her upcoming nuptials to Greg Shepherd, 30.
With her sister Sam Faiers, 27, new mum Ferne McCann, 28, and a huge group of friends by her side, the mum-of-two ensured it was as lavish as possible, and it didn’t go unnoticed by Vicky.
She exclaimed: ‘And can we talk about Billie on that unicorn please? Like OMG! How was that physically possible?
‘I texted my mates straight away and was like: ‘If you don’t get me sat on a unicorn suspended over crowds at a pool party, the wedding is off!’,’ laughed Vicky.
‘Billie Faiers is so extra and I love her for it.
‘I wanted a sten do originally. And I did suggest it to John, but he wasn’t in to it. In fact, he told me to f**k off haha!’
Wedding plans: And, after John sadly lost both his Newcastle-based grandparents, an oversees wedding is now firmly on the cards for the pair
With all joking aside, Vicky seemshappier than ever, and genuinely excited to finally tie the knot with her businessman fiance as they’re finally finding the right work-life balance for them.
Vicky admitted: ‘It’s difficult maintaining a relationship when we’re both so focused on our careers and often at different ends of the country.
‘We’re currently spending the longest time apart that we ever have: It’ll be three weeks apart when we’re done – a bit too long. We try to keep it to a week and a half maximum.
‘When this stretch of work is over, I want us to go on a few holidays – just the two of us – so that we can spend quality time together and get some wedding planning done.
‘I wanna go to Budapest for the weekend, and then make the most of our birthdays. I think we’ll go all out and have a birthday weekend in Dubai and then a week in the Maldives. We need to dedicate time to our relationship.’
The former Geordie Shore openly admitted that there’s a huge difference between John and all of her ex’s, and it’s something that she couldn’t be more delighted about.
Vicky gleefully confessed: ‘John is such a hard worker, and that’s something that I find really attractive about him. He’s handsome, driven and loyal, and I’m so happy I’m with him.
‘After spending years with lads who were lazy and content to just plod along, and were happy to live off my name, it’s so refreshing to be with someone ambitious who works hard and isn’t scared to pick up the bill.’
And according to Vicky, John is completely unfazed by the fact that she’s still friends with some of her ex’s and former flames, such as former TOWIE star Mario Falcone.
She said: ‘John is really secure. John and Mario get on really well. And Mario is more just a pal, we had one date and realised it was nothing and we’re better of just friends.
‘And I’m so happy for him now that he’s with Becky. She’s mint and she’s his perfect match, just the way John is mine.’
Fit chick: Vicky – who took part in the Great North Run over the weekend -admitted: ‘My struggle with my body has been well documented. I’m done struggling with my self-image’
After seven years in the spotlight, Vicky is used to having all eyes on her, and has battled with her weight while being under intense media scrutiny.
But as she steps up a gear on making official plans for her wedding day, she is more determined than ever to maintain the self-confidence which she has finally found.
Vicky explained: ‘My struggle with my body has been well documented. I’m done struggling with my self-image.
‘I’ve turned 30 and I’ve finally accepted who I am and how I look. I’m always gonna have my curves, I’m gonna have a gin now and then and probably have a hungover maccies the next day.
‘I’m done apologising for it. I love my life, I love my friends, my family and my gorgeous fiancé – and that’s all that matters.
‘I’m done with unrealistic body images and everything else that’s fake on social media. I’m not about that anymore, it’s exhausting.’
‘I love having pamper night now. I love having a hot bath, a facemask and having a nice glass of wine. That’s where I’m at with my life.
