Do you keep the passion alive in your relationship with regular snogging, or did you leave passionate kissing behind with your teenager years?
British women have taken to
The thread attracted a slew of replies with many people agreeing that snogging had dried up in their relationships, but that they weren’t particularly worried about it.
Others said that it still happens, but it’s more likely to occur during sex than being a part of their daily routine.
However, several other women said that snogging is still a big part of their relationship and something they love to do.
The Mumsnet thread saw a woman ask whether couples still passionately snog each other (file photo)
The British user said that her and her husband hadn’t passionately kissed for about six years, even during sex
The woman started the conversation by saying: ‘We’ve been together for seven years, married for three. I don’t think we’ve had anything more passionate than a peck on the lips for about six years – yes, even during sex. Interested what other couples do?’
One user said she’s in similar circumstances, admitting she only ever snogged her husband on their first date, which was 10 years ago.
‘I don’t think we have since, we do lots of other things and show each other plenty of affection, just neither of us particularly like snogging,’ she said.
Another woman said: ‘Been together nearly twenty years. We very rarely snog and only during sex (foreplay).’
Several women also said that they do not snog their partners anymore – although some said that they do but only occasionally
Several other women also admitted that snogging is reserved for the bedroom in their relationship, while another said it’s ‘normal’ for it to disappear in long-term partnerships.
‘I mean its good if it stays, but not a terrible sign if it doesn’t.’
This woman agreed and wrote: ‘Just when we have sex, other than that it’s a peck on the lips goodbye/goodnight.’
One woman was more thoughtful with her reply and said that, in her relationship, they go through phases of wanting to snog and not wanting to.
Others said that snogging is not a part of their lives with their partner, except for during sex
She commented: ‘We go through phases. Certainly not as much as when we first met. It bothers me sometimes that we don’t as much as I love a good snog but then we’ll get back into it again.’
However, several other people completely disagreed with the woman and said that snogging remained a key part of their relationships.
One said: ‘ All the time! Are you both happy with how things are? I’m sure snogging all the time isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so if you’re happy then that’s all that matters. I’m a big fan.’
Another wrote: ‘Well, I’ve been with my husband 14 years and we snog quite often… did so earlier today and was in public too. Maybe I’m just reliving my teenage years!’
A third said: ‘Yes, he’s very good at it! Snogging is great fun, why wouldn’t you do it? Quick snog in the kitchen while kids watch TV, pretty perfect really.’
Some didn’t have a hard and fast rule when it comes to snogging and said that they do it when they can
However, several women said that their relationships were still full of passionate snogging as they still enjoy doing it
