A father has revealed how he has managed to transform his ‘dad bod’ – after putting on four stone in just six months following the birth of his son.
Sion Monty, 30, from Porthmadog, Wales, explained how he saw his weight balloon as he came to grips with becoming a dad for the first time, while running three businesses.
He decided he needed to lose weight when he hit 16st, describing how he was particularly mortified due to his line of work – owning a gym, a fitness supplement business and gymwear clothing line.
Sion, who now weighs 12st 10lbs, has managed to get the body of his dreams by exercising six days a week, involving his son in his fitness regime by doing daily runs, hill sprints and long walks with Tedi in his pram.

Explaining his decision to lose weight, Sion said: ‘I didn’t want to be a fat dad. I looked in the mirror and realised that if I wanted to live a long life and see my son live his life I needed to change.
‘I was so body conscious and maybe a bit embarrassed because I was known as a fit guy.
‘I knew I had to involve Tedi in getting fit if I was going to fit it in, while spending time with him. You should have seen how much he laughed at his dad jogging up the hills.
‘He loves birds, so I would choose walks and runs where he there were lots of birds for us to spot together.’

He said being a dad zapped his energy, and he started have takeaways up to five times a week.

‘My family came first, then my businesses and soon going to the gym and fitness went out the back door.
‘My baby suffered with reflux, he never slept, we were always tired, we didn’t have any time for cooking, and it was really hard work.’
Sion added that his exercise regime also dropped off because he didn’t want to spend time away from his family.
However, last Christmas he decided he realised he needed to overhaul his lifestyle following his weight gain.
Sion gave himself an ‘eating window’ of midday to 6pm, fasting for 18 hours a day, to encourage his body to burn fat.
